Cooperative Bayesian and Case-Based Reasoning for Solving Multiagent Planning Tasks

چکیده
We describe an integrated problem solving architecture named INBANCAin which Bayesian networks and case-based reasoning (CBR) work cooperatively on multiagent planning tasks. This includes two-team dynamic tasks, and this paper concentrates on simulated soccer as an example. Bayesian networks are used to characterize action selection whereas a case-based approach is used to determine how to implement actions. This paper has two contributions. First, we survey integrations of case-based and Bayesian approaches from the perspective of a popular CBR task decomposition framework, thus explaining what types of integrations have been attempted. This allows us to explain the unique aspects of our proposed integration. Second, we demonstrate how Bayesian nets can be used to provide environmental context, and thus feature selection information, for the case-based reasoner.

Load-Frequency Control: a GA based Bayesian Networks Multi-agent System
Bayesian Networks (BN) provides a robust probabilistic method of reasoning under uncertainty. They have been successfully applied in a variety of real-world tasks but they have received little attention in the area of load-frequency control (LFC). In practice, LFC systems use proportional-integral controllers. However since these controllers are designed using a linear model, the nonlinearities...
متن کاملCooperative Multiagent Learning
Cooperation and learning are two ways in which an agent can improve its performance. Cooperative Multiagent Learning is a framework to analyze the tradeoff between cooperation and learning in multiagent systems. We focus on multiagent systems where individual agents are capable of solving problems and learning using CBR (Case-based Reasoning). We present several collaboration strategies for age...
متن کاملMultiagent Planning with Factored MDPs
We present a principled and efficient planning algorithm for cooperative multiagent dynamic systems. A striking feature of our method is that the coordination and communication between the agents is not imposed, but derived directly from the system dynamics and function approximation architecture. We view the entire multiagent system as a single, large Markov decision process (MDP), which we as...
متن کاملProbabilistic reasoning in dynamic multiagent systems
Probabilistic reasoning with multiply sectioned Bayesian networks (MSBNs) has been successfully applied in static domains under the cooperative multiagent paradigm. Probabilistic reasoning in dynamic domains under the same paradigm involves several issues. This paper proposes an approach to address these issues. Intuitively, observation on current state plays a more important role in the reason...
متن کاملExploiting Agent and Type Independence in Collaborative Graphical Bayesian Games
Efficient collaborative decision making is an important challenge for multiagent systems. Finding optimal joint actions is especially challenging when each agent has only imperfect information about the state of its environment. Such problems can be modeled as collaborative Bayesian games in which each agent receives private information in the form of its type. However, representing and solving...
